Samsung Releases OfficeServ 7200 – True
Convergence for SMEs |
Samsung has released the
innovative OfficeServ 7200 Converged Communications
Server to the Australian SME market. The first product
from the OfficeServ 7000 series, the OfficeServ 7200 has
been designed to deliver advanced voice, data and
wireless communication in a single platform.
“The OfficeServ 7200 will allow businesses to harness
the widespread availability of broadband to take full
advantage of convergence and create what we call a
‘virtual enterprise’,” explains Samsung Communications
General Manager, Chris Lynch. “What this means is both
multi-site applications and full location independence
which will control costs and achieve more productivity
while delivering top-end functionality.”
The 7200 will target organisations that require between
25 and 100 extensions across a range of locations,
single site or multiple locations. Businesses can deploy
the OfficeServ 7200 to build sophisticated telephony
applications, secure data-communications infrastructure,
wireless mobility, ‘virtual’ call centres and
policy-driven networks.
“The result is a package of integrated IP solutions
which will enable users to work seamlessly from home,
office, hotels, or on the move,” says Chris Lynch. “The
OfficeServ 7200 can deliver the user’s desktop anywhere
in the world, so long as they have access to a
high-speed IP infrastructure such as broadband.”
OfficeServ 7200 allows businesses to improve
productivity while reducing operating cost; specific
features include Trunks, Extensions, VoIP, Networking,
Wireless LAN, Voice Mail, Auto Attendant and Email
Gateway. The 7200 is fully compatible with the Full
OfficeServ CTI application suite, including OS Link, OS
Call, OS EasySet and has add-on options such as OS
Operator, OpenTSP, OS Dataview, OS Softphone.
“The combined voice and data connectivity means
businesses will have the flexibility and features within
a single building, linking multiple sites or to the
internet,” says Chris. “When your applications work
seamlessly across all of your sites, it means full
functionality to even a dispersed team and easier
monitoring by supervisors.”
For multi-site environments, for example, incoming calls
can be routed between sites, for example a branch
network across a region or territory. This enhances the
experience provided to incoming callers, with their
calls being forwarded invisibly to the nearest office
and managed appropriately based on the CLI and DDI
information.
“Then there’s the Samsung wireless mobility solution –
it really takes office telephony into new areas, giving
staff complete freedom to move around the office, while
still being able to take and make calls,” adds Chris.
“With interruption free handover between base stations,
they’ll be able to roam over large industrial, retail
office, healthcare, educational, recreational or
hospitality complexes and remain in constant contact,
managing their calls from anywhere in the building or
site.”
The OfficeServ 7200 also allows a considerable cost
control facility – customers can simply install and
manage remote sites without leaving their head office.
Centralised cost tracking, security alerts and
departmental billing can help manage and track
expenditure precisely.
Samsung OfficeServ range is renowned for its high-end
features, making deployment simple without sacrificing
functionality for mission-critical business applications
such as security systems, policy management and advanced
telephony.
The OfficeServ range also supports a range of stylish,
easy to use ergonomic digital and IP handsets to provide
for each user’s precise needs - from making and
receiving calls, forwarding and paging, to simple
navigation through the system’s extensive list of
features. A key differentiator for the OfficeServ is the
common intuitive “user interface” for both the digital
and IP handsets.
And, like all of Samsung’s business communications
systems, the OfficeServ 7200 can grow with a business.
The building block approach to converged communications
allows customers to start with a single site and grow
the system in line with their business.
“We’re delighted to introduce such a fully featured
truly converged system to the Australian SME market,”
explains Chris Lynch, “The benefits to SMEs will be
tangible and immediate. I’m very pleased to say that the
future of top quality converged voice, data and internet
is here.”
